Up

Dear Diary,
My foster family thinks of everything! Back at the track I had to jump if I wanted to get anywhere higher than the floor, but here I have stairs. I have to admit that I was proud of myself when I mastered the stairs to the deck in the backyard, but that was nothing compared to what was to come. My foster family introduced me to a whole new part of the house...a second floor! The only drawback...more stairs! I was a little intimidated, but my foster brother showed me how it was done with a few quick trips up and down. In no time, I was exploring the second floor, but then it came time to go back down. I'm not sure how it is for humans, but getting up there was the easy part. After some further instruction from my foster brother and some coaxing/paw holding from my foster mom, I was back down on solid ground. I am learning so many new things, smelling new scents, and tasting new flavors...I just feel so worldly now!

Playing Ball

Dear Diary,

OMG! What a great day. I went out into the backyard like usual, but today my foster dad brought this bright green fuzzy round thing. I have never seen anything so beautiful and tasty looking. I admit that I felt a little unlady-like drooling over the thought of chewing on it. I was snapped out of my trance when my foster dad threw the green sphere of deliciousness as far as he could. I took off...after all you have to chase something that looks that pretty. Finally, the fuzzy round thing was in my mouth (where it belongs) and I was trotting back to my foster Dad to find out why he would throw such a great thing away. Get this, I drop it at his feet and after he rubbed me for returning it...he threw it again. Is this guy nuts? I mean, my friends back in the kennel wouldn't believe me if I told them someone was tossing something so valuable away. C'mon foster dad, I got it this second time but you're going to have to be more responsible. He rubbed me again, scratched my back legs, and told me that this was called playing ball. Oohhhhh, this is a game and that fuzzy green thing is a ball. He' throwing the ball just for me so I can do what I was born to....run really fast! We played ball for 30 minutes until I was panting like I just won the daily double! My foster dad took me inside and after I had a drink, I laid down and dreamt of my forever home. There was lots of ball playing in that dream, HINT HINT!

Dear Diary,

It's been 2 weeks since I moved in with my foster family and I am discovering all kinds of new things, including how to get on the Internet! First, I got to ride in a crate that has multiple doors and air conditioning and I loved it. (I found out from Google that it's called a car) It made me feel like a princess to be driven around and my foster mom took so many pictures of me, I wondered if I had won a prize. I really like riding in the car and it always takes me places where I get to discover new things.

When I got to my new foster home, I was surprised to see that not all ground is flat! Are you aware of this? It was news to me. Anyway, my foster family has a huge backyard with trees, grass, pine needles (they remind me of my old like in Florida), and something called a deck. I have never had so much fun looking around and of course, making it my own...even princesses have to take care of business!

Back to this thing called a deck. It's really nice to be elevated above the rest of the backyard, but how in the world was I supposed to get all the way up there? My foster family must be the smartest people around because they invented stairs to solve my climbing dilemma. I was a little hesitant at first so I just tested to see how sturdy they were with my front paws. They were solid!

Next I moved inside to meet my foster brother. He's a great guy and he let me give him a little kiss on the ear to say hello. He showed me where the toys are kept and even where I could rest. OMG! My foster family went all out on my bed. If only the other dogs at the track could see me now. I wanted to pose for a picture I could e-mail back to Florida, so I gathered up all the toys I could find and posed for my shutterbug foster mom.

It has been a long two weeks of learning new things, meeting new people, and lounging on my princess bed. I'm pretty pooped, but I always have time for one last photo...after all my forever family may be reading about me right now! I Love the Internet!

Silly Ears

Alexx has some very silly ears. She can move them in a variety of directions and sometimes they don't match! Check out some of these pictures as evidence. You need to meet this sweet girl to appreciate these ears.
